Even as summer passes and the days gradually change,
yard grass quickly shoots up taking advantage of fertile soil
before you know it.
This time, I pleasantly visited a residential yard in Chimsan-dong, Daegu,
to trim and tidy up the lawn and weeds.
Taking a slow look around from the yard entrance,
the grass growth patterns differed from space to space,
making it a site with many areas that needed attention.
The place we visited this time was a country house
with a wide yard area connected to gravel ground and a narrow pathway.
Checking the yard condition before work,
along the edges, lawn grass and tall weeds had grown densely like thickets,
and even the outlines of the stepping stones were faintly hidden.
Around the children's play equipment as well,
grass had spread long, requiring clean tidying
so they wouldn't get hurt.
On the other hand, in the center space of the yard,
because vehicles frequently drove in and out and trampled the ground,
there were areas where the lawn was sunken or completely missing.

Work Details
Since lawn conditions varied by yard section
and weeds were mixed in floor crevices,
we carefully selected mowing equipment before entering.
If the height difference between the central sunken area and the edge lawn
was too large, it would look awkward,
so neatly balancing the overall level was key.
First, instead of a steel blade, we mounted a string trimmer line
and step by step trimmed down from the edge thickets.
Using a string trimmer line allows us to cut lawn height as low as possible
while reducing the risk of flying stones,
even when pressed right up against stone-heavy gravel or stepping stone borders.
From the bottom of the toy play equipment
to the narrow pathway area between buildings,
we intricately swept through every nook and cranny with the trimmer line,
cleanly cutting away overgrown weeds.
As we mowed the central ground line where vehicles used to pass down low
to match the height of the surrounding lawn,
the yard's overall level began to settle in much more neatly.

Finishing Up
After completing all mowing work,
we blew away grass debris piled high on the ground
and weed scraps lying between gravel
using a blower in every nook and cranny.
The stepping stone lines, which were faintly visible under the thickets,
were cleanly brought back to life,
and the gravel floor regained its original look as well.
Once the lush weeds were cleared away,
the entire yard looked wide open and clear,
giving a cool, airy breeze feeling.
The edge lawn height and the central ground line
naturally balanced each other out,
making it look much neater at a single glance.
In a residential yard, it is not just that grass grows tall;
grass seeds spread to corner spots like gravel crevices or pathways,
making the entire yard easily messy in no time.
In particular, if the height of the central area where vehicles travel
and the lush edges differ,
the overall landscaping can look unbalanced.
